Tour will call at Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Leeds and more, here's how to get tickets
Mumford and Sons have announced an eleven date UK and Ireland tour for 2018. The band will take to the road in November in support of their latest album Delta which is due for release in the same month. General sale tickets go on sale at 9am on Fri 12 Oct.
Since forming in 2007 the band have released four albums. Their debut, Sigh No More, propelled the group into fame in 2009, reaching No.2 in the UK Album Chart. The record features notable hits 'Little Lion Man', 'Winter Winds' and 'Roll Away Your Stone'.
The group's most recent record, Wilder Mind, saw the band move away from their original folk-rock vibe and adopt a heavy alt rock sound. Despite the bold move, it was an international success, charting at No. 1 in seven countries including the UK. The forthcoming release is said to see the band return back to their original mentality and musical style.
Speaking of the record frontman Marcus Mumford remarked: 'We've gone back to the mentality we had when we first started out, when every song was new to the audience and we'd get away with experimenting on them almost every night – working out what wasn't quite right, which lyrics didn't work, how 60 people in a pub reacted to certain things'.
Earlier this month the group released 'Guiding Light', the latest single from the forthcoming record. Those who preorder the new record will get access to presale tickets for the live shows. For the 2019 tour the band will perform each night on a ground-breaking stage spanning across each venue. Support for the UK dates comes from the American singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers.
The winter tour kicks starts on Fri 16 Nov at the 3 Arena in Dublin calling at a host of UK cities including a night at The O2 Arena in London on Thu 29 Nov. The tour wraps on Sun 2 Dec at Liverpool Echo Arena.
