Modfather announced as first artist for Forest Live summer concert series
Forest Live is the annual live music series that hosts some of the world's biggest artists in the UK's most spectacular forests. This year the series returns for its eighteenth year with Paul Weller announced as the first act. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
The specially curated concert series, managed by the Forestry Commission, is renowned for transforming UK forests into atmospheric music venues throughout the summer. The income generated from ticket sales goes towards sustaining the UK's forests.
The Modfather and former Jam and Style Council icon, will perform seven shows next summer in support of his fourteenth studio album True Meanings, which was released this September.
After kicking off in Westonbirt Arboretum forest in Gloucestershire on Fri 14 Jun Weller will take to the stage in Kent, Suffolk, Cheshire, Pickering and Nottingham. The final show goes ahead on Sun 6 Jul at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire
Previous Forest Live lineups have included: Pulp, Bryan Ferry, Madness, Massive Attack, UB40, Van Morrison and The Human League among others. This will be Weller's fifth Forest Live tour.
