Ludovico Einaudi announces Barbican residency & UK tour

World renowned Italian pianist and composer to showcase latest project
Ludovico Einaudi has announced he will tour the UK this year, kicking things off with a five-night residency at the Barbican in London this summer.The Itlian pianist and composer will perform five-nights at the venue from Wed 31 Jul – Sun 4 Aug before returning to the UK in October for regional shows. Tickets are available from 10am on Fri 15 Mar.
Einaudi's albums have received critical acclaim, and as a film and TV composer he has been nominated for numerous European film awards. He composed works for Shane Meadow's This is England '86 and follow up instalments 88 and '90, Joaquin Phoenix's I'm Still Here, The Intouchables, J Edgar, and The Third Murder among others.
The newly announced live shows come inline with the release of Einaudi's 14th album, Seven Days Walking, part one of which is due for release on Fri 15 Mar. The project consists of seven volumes that will be released over the course of seven months throughout 2019. Lead single 'Cold Wind Var. 1' came out earlier in March.
A master of minimalism, Einaudi's blend of alt-classical, ambient and contemporary music defies easy classification and has made him one of the most successful musicians in the world right now. He last toured the UK in 2016 selling out 11 venues up and down the country. Einaudi returns to showcase his latest project shows that will no doubt see fans flood to venues to see the master at work.
