Much-loved children's book comes to life on stage for five weeks this summer
Based on the popular children's book by Julia Donaldson with Axel Scheffler's illustration, Zog is the writer's latest captivating tale to be adapted for the stage. The show runs at Cadogan Hall in London from Wed 31 Jul–Sun 25 Aug and presale tickets are available now.
Donaldson and Scheffler's much-loved character comes to life in Mike Shepherd's (Kneehigh theatre) magical adaptation which features Johnny Flynn's (award-winning actor and singer-songwriter) sumptuous folk score pieced together with live musicians.
Designer Katie Sykes lifts the book from the page and creates a real and fantastical world with a bright and colourful set. From the team behind Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales and Tabby McTat, Zog promises to be roaring fun for all ages.
So who is Zog? He's none other that a big lovable dragon attending Madam Dragon's school. This is a unique place where dragons learn to be dragons and Zog is eager to please and perhaps a little too desperate to win a golden star. The clumsy fellow bumps, burns and roars his way through years one, two and three as the story unfolds. Throw in a duel with the knight Sir Gadabout the Great, and an epic soundtrack and you've got the latest production entertaining the whole family this summer.
