The Capital's newest theatre welcomes Peter Pan, monsters, aliens, inventors and more
Troubadour White City Theatre is set to open its doors for the first time in July 2019. The new theatre is situated in West London's former BBC Media Village and consists of two fully flexible spaces that can host 1,200 or 800 theatregoers at a time in the new multi-purpose state-of-the-art theatre.
Inline with the UK's school summer holidays the new theatre opens with TroubaKids Festival. This kid-focused festival sees a summer programme of five family-friendly productions playing in rep from Sat 20 Jul.
The programme kicks off with the National Theatre's acclaimed reimaging JM Barrie's classic tale Peter Pan from Sat 20 Jul–Sun 27 Oct with the colourful, nursery rhyme magic-filled show Little Baby Bum running from Tue 23 Jul–Sat 3 Aug.
The monster-ously good show Monstersaurus follows Monty the wacky young inventor and runs from Wed 31 Jul–Sun 11 Aug. Kids can get to know The Very Hungry Caterpillar and what he likes to eat from Wed 7 Aug–Sun 1 Sep or enjoy smash-hit West End show Aliens Love Underpants from Tue 13 Aug–Sun 1 Sep.
Speaking of the forthcoming TroubaKids season Oliver Royds and Tristan Baker, of Troubadour Theatres commented:
'We are hugely excited to be launching the first summer season at Troubadour White City and can't think of a better way to start than with four shows which will entertain and enthral the next generation of theatregoers.
This summer, we hope to turn White City Place, an area that is synonymous with entertainment, storytelling and the diversity of British culture, into a space that will delight young theatregoers and provide state-of-the-art entertainment for families.'
