Harold Pinter Theatre announces brand new play Walden

The new space thriller starring Gemma Arteron and Fehinti Balogun comes to London at the end of May

London's Harold Pinter Theatre has announced the run of Walden, a debut play written by Amy Berryman and directed by Ian Rickson running at the theatre from Sat 22 May – Sat 12 June 2021. Tickets go on sale Friday 16 April at 10am.

Rickson is well-known for having directed Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem at the Royal Court Theatre in 2009 and Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, also at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Walden will star Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Fehinti Balogun (Juliet, Naked) and Lydia Wilson (The Duchess of Malfi) and follows Cassie, a NASA botanist who returns from a Moon mission that saw her away from Earth for a year. She returns to her estranged twin sister Stella, a former NASA architect, and stays in a remote cabin in the woods where Stella and her climate activist partner Bryan have started a new life. Old wounds come to the surface as the two sisters attempt to get to the route of the rivalry that drove a wedge between them all those years ago.

Performances will take place on Mondays to Saturdays at 7.30pm, with matinee performances on Thursdays and Saturdays at 3pm. The theatre will allow group bookings of up to five people to be made, as long as all members are in a single household or support bubble.

Tickets to see Walden at the Harold Pinter Theatre go on sale Friday 16 April at 10am.
