The songwriting genius will play Edinburgh, London, Liverpool and more

Legendary songwriter Don McLean will embark on a huge tour of the UK as part of his 50th Anniversary American Pie Tour. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 24 September.

The tour has been billed as 'honouring the day the music died' in reference to his stand-out hit 'American Pie', but fans can expect to hear plenty of classics from McLean's six-decade back catalogue including 'Crying', 'Castles In The Air' and 'Vincent'.

Kicking off in Cardiff, the tour will take the American troubadour to most major cities in the UK, before a grand finale at the London Palladium on Tuesday 4 October.
