The 80s alt rockers' highly regarded best of album goes on sale next month
Pioneers of modern rock music Echo & The Bunnymen have announced a reissue of their first best of album Songs To Learn & Sing. The record, available on heavyweight black vinyl and a special edition splatter vinyl, is set for release on Friday 18 February and is available to pre-order now.
The news comes after the band reissued their first four LPs, Crocodiles (1980), Heaven Up Here (1981), Porcupine (1983) and Ocean Rain (1984), last October.
Initially released in 1985, the best of album marked a celebratory closing chapter in the band's most prolific period and features highlights from their first four albums, including 'Rescue', 'The Cutter', 'The Killing Moon' and 'Bring On The Dancing Horses'. The reissue will include an exclusive seven-inch of their debut single 'Pictures On My Wall', alongside the lumbering post-punk gem 'Read It In Books' as a B-side.
The band, which is anchored by mainstays Ian McCulloch on vocals and Will Sergeant on guitar, will also tour the UK and Ireland this spring in celebration of four decades in the music business. Find a full list of the band's tour dates below.
