Rolling Stones confirm 60th anniversary 2022 UK tour: how to get tickets

The British rock giants will hit Liverpool's Anfield stadium as part of their SIXTY Tour

Rock and roll icons The Rolling Stones have announced that they will headline a UK tour this summer. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 18 March.

The tour will hit Anfield stadium in Liverpool on Thursday 9 June, marking 60 years since the legends last performed in the city at the Empire Theatre in 1971.

The monumental anniversary shows will also pay tribute to the late drummer Charlie Watts who died last year. Drumming in his place will be Steve Jordan who filled in for Watts during the No Filter US Tour.

The titans debuted their first album in 1964, unleashing their iconic cover of Etta James' 'I Just Want To Make Love To You' into the world. Over 30 studio albums have followed since, among them seminal additions to 21st century music such as Aftermath, Let It Bleed and Beggars Banquet.

Those who secure a ticket to the epic gigs will be treated to some of the most iconic hits from the group's extensive repertoire such as 'Gimme Shelter', 'Sympathy For The Devil' and '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction'.

Their latest release is 2021 album Tattoo You which features live cuts of anthems like 'Under My Thumb', remastered classics including 'Start Me Up' as well as nine unheard tracks such as 'Living In The Heart Of Love'.

The Stones have also announced that they will headline at this year's BST Hyde Park concert series, joining names such as Elton John and Adele.
