The 67-year-old supermodel placed runner up to Christopher Biggins on the regular edition of the jungle-based reality show back in 2007 and became memorable for her fights and feuds on screen, with ITV bosses reportedly keen for her to make a return for the show's 'All Stars' edition later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Although Janice really stirred things up, she was also hugely popular with the viewers at home, who loved the fact that she kept everyone on their toes. That’s why she finished second behind that year’s King of the Jungle, Christopher Biggins."
The insider went on to explain that bosses are "relishing" in being able to hand-pick celebrities who have taken part over the years and promised that 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here: All Stars' – which is reportedly set to start filming in South Africa later this year and hit screens in 2023 – will be "killer with no filler."
The source added: "Producers are relishing the fact that they now have the luxury of cherry-picking the celebrities they want based on their past performances in the jungle. And the last thing bosses want to have is anyone boring on the show. They want the All Stars line-up to be killer with no filler."
During her time in the jungle, the former 'America's Next Top Model' judge became known for repeatedly using the phrase "Oh man!" in her New York accent and was voted by the public to take part in eight consecutive Bushtucker Trials.
Following his victory on the show, pantomime legend Biggins branded Janice the "biggest b***** of all time" and claimed that she was "shocked" about her eventual defeat.
He said: "Janice is the biggest b**** of all time. She didn’t get on with anyone. She was so shocked when she didn’t win. She immediately got in her car and went home. "
Other stars said to be returning for the all star series include former 'Coronation Street' actress Helen Flanagan and TV presenter Gillian McKeith, who famously fainted on camera when faced with the show's grizzly challenges.
Others tipped for a jungle return include Gino D’Acampo, Shaun Ryder and Vicky Pattison.
The main show is returning to Australia later this year after spending two years being filmed in Wales due to COVID-19 restrictions.
