June release radar: new music from artists touring the UK this year

Discover the latest music from Foals, George Ezra, Muna and more

Last month was truly a fantastic month for new music. With albums from some of the hottest artists in the industry including Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles, Arcade Fire and Florence & The Machine, May has really given June a run for its money in terms of album releases.

However, this month's new material is nothing to be sniffed at. George Ezra, Muna, Foals and Paolo Nutini will all be dropping their anticipated new records and even better, will be touring the UK this year to showcase them.

Read on to discover their latest music announcements and how to get tickets for their 2022 UK tours.

George Ezra - Gold Rush Kid

Last month the deep-toned, guitar-wielding George Ezra announced a lengthy UK arena tour in support of his third studio album, Gold Rush Kid. The follow-up to 2018's Staying At Tamara's will come out on Friday 10 June and bears the already-released singles 'Green Green Grass' and 'Anyone For You'.

Both singles were released earlier in the year and follow Ezra's usual up-beat formula that makes for the perfect summer hit and Gold Rush Kid will no doubt be littered with other hazy-day, holiday gems.

The 28-year-old is set to take the new record to arenas around the UK this September and October. He'll kick off the stint at Manchester's AO Arena on Friday 16 September before hitting Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Nottingham and Sheffield through till Sunday 2 October.

Foals - Life Is Yours

It seems as though British rockers Foals have secured a headline slot at almost every festival in the UK this summer, just in time for the release their upcoming album Life Is Yours on Friday 17 June.

This will be their seventh studio album since 2008's debut release Antidotes and the follow-up to 2019's Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2. In anticipation of the record they've dropped a handful of singles, including 'Wake Me Up' and 'Looking High'.

Sharing the artwork for Life Is Yours on Instagram, the band say, 'While we were in the throes of last winter, we wanted to find a new way to express ourselves. We wanted to refocus and do something that shared a DNA throughout the songs: a physicality, a danceability, an ode to nights out.'

Indeed, tracks like '2001' and '2am' are jam-packed with the danceability that the Yannis Philippakis fronted outfit so desire. The high-energy tunes are filled with synths and funky guitar riffs that manage to capture those adrenaline-filled nights that turn into early mornings.

They'll also be heading out on a lengthy tour of the UK, hitting London, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester this November.

The record, the follow-up to 2019's Saves The World, will include the viral single featuring indie heavyweight Phoebe Bridgers, 'Silk Chiffon'. In March the group released their heartbreak anthem with a joyful twist, 'Anything But Me'. The single was followed by 'Kind Of Girl' and 'Home By Now'.

The follow-up to 2015's Caustic Love, Last Night In The Bittersweet will drop on Friday 1 July and features the two new tracks as well as songs such as 'Children Of The Stars', 'Radio' and 'Desperation' which the Ivor Novello winner debuted during a handful of intimate live performances this month.
