Jim Moir has "given up" his Vic Reeves alter-ego and "never really speaks" to comedy sidekick Bob Mortimer anymore.
The 64-year-old comedian is best known for his Vic and Bob double act with the 63-year-old star, which was also known as Reeves and Mortimer, but the pair don't talk on the phone and only see each other "now and then".
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, Jim said: "We've had offers from everywhere. But I'm not doing any more. I've given up. I've done that.
"We never really speak much. Bob and I have never been ones for talking on the phone.
"We'll see him now and then and have a chat about things. It's not a conscious thing, we haven't discussed it."
Jim admits viewers have often assumed his and Bob's lives were "entwined" because they were comedy partners – appearing in the likes of 'Shooting Stars' – and while they used to go to the pub together during their younger years, they don't anymore.
He added: "People have always thought that with me and Bob. Do you go out in the evening? We always said no, we don't.
"We see each other in the daytime, we film.
We used to, when we were in our 20s, go out to the boozer, but we don't really do that anymore."
Last June, Jim admitted he was planning to retire Vic after "swansong" movie 'The Glove', which is yet to be released.
He told BBC Radio Cornwall at the time: "Vic Reeves was a character that I invented when I was at art school actually, I put him on stage.
"And I haven't done him for a while. Bob [Mortimer] and me wrote a film, about 12 years ago, which we keep threatening to do and we've been asked to do, so we might do that next year.
"And that will be probably the final appearance of Vic Reeves."
