Mumford and Sons will play Glastonbury despite bassist Ted Dwane undergoing emergency brain surgery two weeks ago.

'The Cave' rockers' headlining appearance at the British event on Sunday (30.06.13) was thrown into doubt when Ted was rushed to hospital on June 10 to have the blood clot removed, but he has since made a speedy recovery.

Keyboard player Ben Lovett told Radio Times magazine: "To be honest, Ted dealt with the whole thing better than any of us could have imagined.

"And I don't think there's any need to dramatise what is obviously a very dramatic situation.

"All we feel is incredibly grateful and happy that he's going to be OK, and that we're going to get back out on that stage at Glastonbury as four brothers and do what we do."

Mumford & Sons - which also includes singer Marcus Mumford and banjo player Winston Marshall - first played Glastonbury in 2008 and have appeared at the festival every year since.

Ben added: "Whenever we tour elsewhere then come back to Glastonbury it always reminds us of how great it is to be British, and what a great British institution it is."

Mumford and Sons will be joined in headlining Glastonbury by Arctic Monkeys and The Rolling Stones.
