The Crüe to play Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and London, will be joined by Alice Cooper

Ignoring Judas Priest, KISS and Cher before them, Mötley Crüe have announced their final UK shows ever. Definitely no more after this. Absolutely not.

The band signed a Cessation of Touring contract back in January 2014, which states that their last show – as Mötley Crüe that is – will be LA's Staples Centre on 31 December 2015, and have been touring the world relentlessly since then.

At a press conference today, the group announced the venues for their final European shows, which were decided by 5000,000 of the band's fanbase via the #demandtheCrue hashtag on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Special guest Alice Cooper will join the band for the rest of their final dates.

Formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, Mötley Crüe rose to fame after gaining the attention of Ozzy Osbourne who they opened for on his world tour that year. As well known for their drug-fuelled lifestyles as for their music (the collaborative autobiography Dirt is written with real candour, but feel free to ignore bassist Nikki Sixx's own Heroin Diaries) the group nonetheless released nine albums including Girls Girls Girls, Dr Feelgood and Generation Swine and have embarked on 34 concert tours since 1981.

Here's the full list of Mötley Crüe UK tour dates:

Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle 2 Nov
Manchester Arena, Manchester 3 Nov
Birmingham Genting Arena, Birmingham 4 Nov
SSE Arena, London, 6 Nov

Tickets go on sale Fri 19 Jun and will be available here. Also catch the band at Download Festival Sun 14 Jun.

Mötley Crüe

The ultimate hair metal bad boy rockers (just read tell all biog The Dirt for definitive proof) on their final tour, they've signed a contract that means they'll be sued if they play under the 'Mötley Crüe' name again, last ever chance to hear 'Girls Girls Girls', 'Dr Feelgood' or 'Smokin' in the Boys Room' live.
