Legendary composer AR Rahman has announced a hotly anticipated London show at the SSE Wembley Arena on Sat 8 July. Tickets are on sale now.
The two-time Academy Award winner, nicknamed the 'Mozart of Madras', brings his 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow' concert to London. Celebrating 25 years since his acclaimed sound debut Roja, the visionary composer will be joined by guests including Benny Dayal, Javed Ali, Neeti Mohan, Haricharan, Jonita Gandhi, Ranjit Barot.
Rahman, arguably most famous for his work on the hit film Slumdog Millionaire, has sold over 150 million copies of his musical work worldwide, his tracks featuring in films like The Lord of War, Inside Man and The Accidental Husband.
He's a legend in his homeland and is viewed as a pioneer for his musical vision, which blends traditional indian instruments with elements of classical music, world music and modern electronic music.
Rahman himself added: 'From Roja to Rockstar, Kaatru Veliyidai and more, it has been an incredible musical journey over these last 25 years. I've been immensely blessed to have the love and support of my fans, music lovers, friends and well-wishers. It continues to inspire and motivate me.'
