Soundtracks from Martin and Tolkien's fantasy worlds will be performed by a live orchestra and choir
The music from Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit is to be performed live at a special one-off concert at London Palladium on Sun 12 Nov. Tickets go on general sale Fri 1 Sep at 10am.
The show will provide welcome relief to those already missing the smash hit TV show, after the finale of the seventh season aired last week. Ramin Djawadi has composed music for the show since 2011, creating eerie soundscapes and rousing orchestral accompaniments for George R. R Martin's fantasy world.
The success of Game of Thrones has drawn comparisons to JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, a classic of literary fiction, later adapted by Peter Jackson into an Oscar winning film series. Music from that epic trilogy, as well as its prequel The Hobbit, will also be performed at the concert. Howard Shore's acclaimed score for the films includes over 170 'themes', amounting to an astonishing 170 hours of music.
With a symphony orchestra and choir in tow, the iconic soundtracks will provide a spectacular night of entertainment for fantasy fans and music lovers.
