Stereophonics confirmed as the second headliner for TRNSMT 2018

Welsh rock favourites to be joined at Glasgow Green by The Script, James Bay and Jessie J on Fri 29 Jun

Stereophonics have been confirmed as the second headliners for the 2018 TRNSMT festival. Presale tickets for the festival are available through the TRNSMT website at 9am on Wed 29 Nov. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Fri 1 Dec.

The Welsh rockers, fronted by Kelly Jones, will top the bill at Glasgow Green on Fri 29 Jun. They released their tenth album, Scream Above The Sounds earlier this year, and with hits dating back to their 1997 debut Word Gets Around they're undoubtedly one of the UK's biggest bands, with the likes of 'Dakoka', 'The Bartender and the Thief' and 'Just Looking' made for the main stage.

Kelly Jones says he can't wait to return north of the border, adding: 'The TRNSMT lineup looks like a great weekend for all. We're happy to be headlining the Friday and to be getting another chance to play in front of the beautiful, always up for it Scottish crowd!"

Joining them are Irish group The Script, fresh off the back of the release of their fifth album Freedom Child. James Bay brings his big songs and his cool hat to the party, and the addition of pop giant Jessie J should make the 'price tag' (sorry) for TRNSMT even more appealing (sorry again).

The announcement follows last Wednesday's news that our kid Liam Gallagher would headline the first Saturday at TRNSMT, with The Courteeners, Wolf Alice and J Hus on the bill too.
