Genre defying duo to perform in Glasgow, Leeds and London in support of their latest album Hippopotamus

Sparks have announced UK tour dates for 2018, with tickets on sale at 9am on Fri 19 Jan. Presale tickets go on sale through O2 priority at 9am on Wed 17 Jan.

Ron and Russell Mael released Hippopotamus in September 2017, the 23rd studio album of a remarkable, varied career. It charted in the UK at number 7, the group's first top 10 record in over 40 years.

Now the group hit the road, with three shows across the UK in May. Kicking off at Glasgow's O2 ABC on Tue 22 May, they perform the following night at Leeds' O2 Academy, finishing up at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town on Thu 24 May.

With a back catalogue that includes 'This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us', 'Amateur Hour' and 'Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth', as well as the fruits of their Franz Ferdinand collaboration FFS, the shows are unmissable for fans of odd, idiosyncratic pop.
