The official Scottish residence of the Queen, this baroque palace was once home to Mary Queen of Scots and now houses the great artworks and tapestries of its regal residents. The property is still today used by the Queen for official engagements when visiting Scotland. Known for its exquisite architecture and rich displays of Scottish heritage visitors can peruse the property at their leisure with complimentary multilingual audio tour or with a pre-booked guided tour.
The Palace is home to the Queen's Gallery which hosts changing exhibitions from the Royal Collection, featuring old master paintings, rare furniture, decorative arts and photographs. Guests can also enjoy the picturesque grounds and café.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is situated at the end of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile (Canongate), a 15-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station. Bus numbers 6 and Skylink 300 stop nearby and the Palace is also a popular stopping point for many of the city’s sightseeing bus tours.
