Garden designed in the 18th century by the poet Alexander Pope and the landscape gardener Capability Brown, which is now owned by the National Trust. The garden is located in a sweeping valley where visitors can enjoy stunning views of Bath. In addition to woodlands and meadows, visitors can discover hidden architecture from the garden’s Georgian past including a ruined thatched cottage and ice house, a reconstructed summerhouse and the footprint of a gothic temple. One of only four Palladian bridges of this design in the world can be crossed at the bottom of the valley.
