The John Knox House dates back to 1470 and it is associated with the Scottish Reformation. Even though the name-giver John Knox only lived in the house for a brief period in the 16th century, his association with the house stuck throughout the centuries. The museum is located on the Royal Mile and it contains many decorations and paintings from the 500 years since it was first built. Discover the historic stories of one of Scotland’s most fascinating time periods while walking around this truly charming collection. The building is occasionally used by the adjacent Scottish Storytelling Centre for special events.
