Open almost 24/7, selling creamy sugar-coated cakes, Ross’s is heaven for immortal late night clubbers, shift workers and the sweet-toothed but hell for local cardiologists. Its rowies or butteries, as the local speciality dense, flat pastries are sometimes known, are worth a try (heat them in a toaster and spread them with golden syrup) but contain about a week's worth of salt. With everything made on-site, Ross's Bakery is great for the soul if not for the body.
