This 65 acre racecourse was once a harbour during the Roman settlement of Chester. The site was also home to the infamous Goteddsday football match which was banned in 1533 and replaced six years later by horse racing.
Its location in the city makes it a popular venue as it's a short dash to local hotels, shops, bars and restaurants.
The racecourse is a 20–30 minute walk from Chester city centre and the local railway station.
