Seven Stories: The National Centre for Children's Books

Set out across seven stories of a building (clever) the National Centre for Children's Books celebrates children's books, their creators and their readers through exhibitions and events.

We love stories. From creating them, to protecting them to bringing them to life, we know them inside out - and it's our job to share as many as we can.

We're a registered charity and accredited museum, and our team work with schools, communities and families to ensure every child has access to stories.

Visit us for free in Newcastle upon Tyne - in our very special seven-storey listed building - and see original artworks, draft manuscripts, correspondence from bestselling authors and hear all about the stories behind the stories. We have events, workshops and storytimes every week - plan your visit to make the most of your time.

Our children and young adult's bookshop and coffee shop are open 10am - 5pm every day except Wednesdays in term time (open seven days a week in school holidays). You can also hire us for your school, team, group or even your birthday party!
